African Beauties...Make the difference

Let them inspire you...
Liya Kebede, an Ethiopian born Beauty who is an internationally known model as well as a goodwill ambassador for the World Health Organization her tireless efforts in raising awareness for the difficulties that women and children face in the developing world.
Alek Wek, Internationally known Super model, and the real Face of Africa. The Sudanese beauty says, "I believe that true beauty comes from inside you and that always shows through. I have no problem with whatever the next big look is, whether it's big blonde hair and blue eyes or green hair and dark eyes. That's fine so long as there isn't just one ideal image. Don't try and tell me that only one look is beautiful!" In her free time Alek tries to help the people of Africa and is a member of the US Committee For Refugees' Advisory Council. She also issued an aid program called Doctors Without Borders, to show the life after war in Sudan.

This is just so beautiful....The it's just interesting how the beauty of a woman can be portrayed!!
Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai Saying the planet is at risk from human activity, environmentalist Maathai urged democratic reforms and an end to corporate greed when she collected the Prize.The newly appointed Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Dr. Asha-Rose Migiro. Migiro commenced her education at Mnazi Mmoja Primary School in 1963. She later moved on to Korogwe Primary School, Weruweru Secondary School, and, finally, Korogwe Secondary School, where she graduated high school in 1975 She obtained her LL.B and LL.M from the University of Dar es Salaam and her Ph.D. in 1992 from the University of Konstanz in Germany. Before entering politics, she was a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).According to Ban -Kimmon the UN Secretary, "She is a highly respected leader who has championed the cause of developing countries over the years..." He also said that "Through her distinguished service in diverse areas, she has displayed outstanding management skills with wide experience and expertise in socio-economic affairs and development issues."Gertrude Ibengwe Mongella is the president of the Pan-African Parliament. The Honorable Gertrude Mongella has been on a lifelong mission to improve the quality of life for the women and children of Tanzania, “The fight for humanitarianism is a great one, but it is one to which I remain committed. Two key factors to moving people from despair to viability are education and economic development. I am focused on those priorities as well. "


Ellen JOHNSON SIRLEAF, is the current president of Liberia and Africa's first elected female head of state. She is the first elected black woman head of state in the world, and the third such head of government after Eugenia Charles of Dominica and Sylvie Kinigi of Burundi. She is often referred to as the "Iron Lady".The term describes a "strong willed" woman.
